Why do some people always stay fit?
It seems like it’s effortless, but is it really?

They sleep well
Which means getting enough hours of sleep per night (which is about 8 hours) and sleeping without interruptions and, of course, sleeping on a good quality mattress.
Does good sleep really matter so much?
Poor sleep causes stress and stress causes weight gain among so many other things.
You are probably aware how bad stress is for your health because you feel it. From poor concentration, depression, fatigue, sensitivity, headaches..to some serious health problems including both, mind and body.
Things that help you get good sleep:
- avoid electronics at least half an hour before going to bed
- unwind before going to bed by doing things that relax you
- don’t eat at least 3 hours before sleep
- drink some chamomile tea
- use lavender scent or lavender candles as lavender is great for sleep
- avoid thinking or worrying about tomorrow by getting well prepared for it
- have a bath
- read a book that is relaxing
- try some yoga poses that are great for getting good sleep
They hydrate properly
Dehydration can cause many problems, including weight gain and fatigue.
It’s super important that you keep yourself hydrated throughout the whole day.
If you don’t have a habit of drinking plenty of water, set a reminder on your phone. And if you don’t like drinking plain water, you can always infuse it with your fave fruits for added flavors and benefits.
They know their bodies
Probably the most important thing to learn, is to learn how your body functions. That makes it a lot easier for you to manipulate it.
Learn how your body reacts to different activities, foods, principles and such.
Basically, you want to find what works for you and do it. Sounds simple but it takes time. And your body keeps changing as well. It’s sounds a lot easier then it is, but it is worth it.
They stay active
And that doesn’t meaning running 3 times a day, or even once every day.
Being active means walking, stretching, using stairs, fidgeting. Any kind of movement counts as being active. That may seem insignificant but, for example, studies have shown that fidgeting throughout the day burns ten times more calories than being still.
So as you can see, small movements do really make a difference.
They eat a balanced diet
Balanced diet means two things:
–balanced plate – your plate should always include protein, carbs and fats from healthy sources
–balance between eating for your body and eating for your soul
What does that mean?
It’s ok to eat an ice cream or a piece of cake, but just not all of the time. Try to eat more healthy real foods than foods that have no nutritional value and are eaten for pleasure.
Another way to a more balanced diet is to eat healthier versions of your favorite foods. For example, instead of ordering a pizza that is full of processed cheese and refined oils and such, you can make your own that is a lot healthier just by making the crust thin, and adding on top real ingredients (olive oil, tomato sauce, veggies, healthy cheese and so on). You can easily make a healthier version of any dish you love and enjoy it while staying healthy.
As you can see, staying fit does take some effort, but not too much. At the end, it’s all about movement and balance.
